Delete your account & data

You can permanently delete your Espero account and associated data at any time. You don't need to keep the app to do it.

In the app

1. Open Settings → Account.
2. Tap Delete account.
3. Confirm. Your account and data are scheduled for deletion immediately.

By email

If you can't access the app, email privacy@espero.live from the phone number or with enough detail to verify your account, and we will delete it for you.

What gets deleted

• Your profile (name, username, bio, avatar, language) and phone number.
• Your messages and media that we can identify as yours, and your memberships, reactions, read state and devices.
• Your subscription link in our system (cancel the subscription itself in your App Store / Google Play account — deletion here does not cancel store billing).

What may be retained, and for how long

• Shared conversations: messages you sent to others may remain visible to those recipients (as with any messenger), but are no longer linked to your deleted profile.
• Limited records we are legally required to keep (e.g. for fraud prevention, abuse reports, or tax/accounting) are retained only as long as the law requires, then deleted.
• Backups are purged on our normal rotation (typically within 30 days).
