Espero exists to help people understand each other across languages. These Community Guidelines are part of our Terms of Service and apply to everyone who uses Espero. By using Espero — and in particular by making your profile public — you agree to follow them.
We want Espero to be a welcoming place, so we ask everyone to use good judgement and treat others with respect. If content or behaviour breaks these guidelines, we may take action, including removing content, limiting features, or suspending or terminating an account. You can report or block anyone at any time.
These examples aren't exhaustive. We may also act on other content or conduct that we reasonably consider harmful, abusive, or unlawful.
For content that people can share with others, Espero provides:
These tools help us keep Espero safe, but we can't promise to detect or prevent every violation, and providing them doesn't make us responsible for content that people create or share.
Enforcement is at our reasonable discretion. Depending on the situation we may remove content, limit or disable features, or suspend or terminate accounts, and we may act without prior notice where we consider it appropriate — for example, for serious or repeated violations, or where required by law. Nothing here obliges us to take any particular action in any particular case.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number first. For urgent safety issues on Espero, email safety@espero.live with “URGENT” in the subject.
If we act on your account and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal by replying to our notice or emailing safety@espero.live. We'll take a reasonable look, though we can't guarantee a particular outcome.
We may update these guidelines from time to time. If we do, we'll change the date above, and your continued use of Espero means you accept the updated version.
